Hello to everyone out there in the Do art Nation!
We hope you’ve been having a great summer filled with creativity, inspiration, and wacky hijinks. I’m on the East Coast this week, with workshops in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New York.
Next month we’ll be bringing Do Art to park districts in Illinois and Missouri for programs in acting, Comics, and more! This includes a 5-day, 3-hour comic book camp at the St. Charles Park District in St. Charles, Missouri. We had an amazing time last year, and I wanted to share one of the comics that we made with you today.
The comic is about This, That and The Other Thing, as well as two characters that the kids invented: Sherbert, who is green, and Bartholomew, who is purple and has one eye. The kids were inspired by some extra erasers I had, and made a comic about Sherbert and Bartholomew falling in love. The Other Thing gets jealous, a dragon gets involved, and hilarity ensues.
It was an amazing time creating this comic book movie with the kids, and I can’t wait to do it again! What amazing art have you made this summer? Let us know in the comments and don’t forget to keep creating!
