Free comic book month is in full swing, and we are super excited to bring comics and creative energy to libraries all over the country. We’ve been making some amazing comics, and getting some great responses to our latest comic: This, That, and The Other Thing Volume 1. Next week I’ll be heading out to Shillingworth Pennsylvania and I can’t wait to visit the East Coast.
As Mr. Jerry likes to remind us: art is energy. Through creativity, we access a part of ourselves that is often lost in the day-to-day repetition, the stresses that often blind us to the beauty of merely living. Through creativity, we transform the world around us, and locate our identities as artists. Through creativity we enjoy what the German philosopher Karl Groos called “the pleasure of being the cause,” a deep sense of joy at the act of fooling around with the universe to see what happens.
