Hello and happy Free Comic book Day to everyone in the Do Art Nation!
As some of you know, comics are one of our favorite art forms. They combine narrative and visual art, bring people together, and allow for some amazing, wacky cartoon action!
We started the Do Art journey as comic book artists, and so we celebrate every May by giving away comics to participating libraries for Free Comic Book Day! We brought comics and fun to 4 different libraries on May 2nd. I was out making an incredible comic with the kids at the Geneseo library, Ms. Karen made a comic in Matoon, and Jerry did not one but two comic book workshops in Genoa and Burbank Illinois!

The comic we’re giving away this year is about our comic book characters This, That and The Other Thing! The comic features our original comics as well as comics made by kids all over the country. We use This That and The Other Thing to talk about storytelling as well as cartooning, and over the many workshops that we’ve done, The Other Thing has gotten up to some truly crazy shenanigans.
Stay tuned for some comic book videos from our free comic book day workshops. How do you celebrate Free Comic Book Day? Let us know in the comments and don’t forget to keep creating!
