Hello everyone out there in the Do Art Nation, and happy Poetry Month!
Last time, we talked about reciting poems as a way to explore poetry as the music of words. When we recite poetry, we are able to explore the mind and creativity of another author, as well as to find words that can often help us to express our own feelings.

I decided to kick off poetry month by reciting one of my favorite poems: “Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night” by the poet Dylan Thomas. If you ever have a chance, check out some of Dylan Thomas’s recordings of his own poems. I once found a vinyl album of him reading one of his poems “Milk Wood,” and listening to I was absolutely transported. Listen to him and you’ll see what “The Music of Words” really means!
Dylan Thomas’s poem is perhaps most famous for its appearance in the movie Interstellar by Christopher Nolan. The poem itself is a powerful exploration of aging and mortality. I’ve always found it very moving, and I hope you do as well.
What poem should I recite next? Let us know in the comments, and don’t forget to keep creating!
