Hello to everyone out there in the Do Art Nation! We hope that you all had an amazing summer. As many of us are getting ready for school and other fall events, we hope that your creative projects have been going well, and that you are ready to keep rocking with that awesome creative energy that only YOU can bring to the world.
As many of you know, Do Art Productions was started by two comic book artists who wanted to share their love of art and creativity with the world. We believe that we are all artists, and we unlock creative superpowers and audiences all ages and backgrounds through the magic of comedy, drawing, and wacky creativity. We emphasize wacky creativity because we seek to inspire art that defies expectation, and invites people of many different skill levels to participate and create something fun.
Oftentimes, especially as creative people, we can get so lost in the creative project that we’re working on, and the expectations that we have for ourselves, that we can forget that creativity is supposed to be fun! For that reason, the comics we make with kids all over the country emphasize not only silliness and play, but also collaboration among artists. Our characters This, That, and The Other Thing have been on some amazing wacky adventures this summer. They’ve gone to outer space, they’ve escaped from sewer jail, they’ve tangled with such characters as Bananatron and Zombie Cinderella. Whether or not the other thing ever learns its lesson, we are continually inspired to see what kind of shenanigans the group energy will invent, and the journey that we will all go on together.
