Wacky Hats, Banana Jerseys, and Big Creative Energy: Inside a Do Art Creative Assembly

Hello to everyone out there in the Do Art Nation!  Last week was absolutely amazing for us here at Do Art Productions.  Mr Jerry had workshops on the east coast, and the art he’s been sharing has been truly incredible

Meanwhile, I just had an amazing assembly at the Hampshire Elementary School, taking part in Cub scout 22’s blue and gold dinner. Dinner. Our creative assemblies are some of my favorite events, because we get to work with larger groups of people, exploring creativity and art as a collective, bringing wacky energy to schools, libraries and more.

Mr. Chet looks at drawings at a creative assembly.

My mom even came to help me out, along with Ms. Karen, and Jerry’s Aunt Tammy! They brought the wacky energy by wearing some crazy hats, getting the kids to share their art with them, and taking some truly spectacular pictures and videos.

I got some amazing creative energy from the kids, as well as from the awesome outfit that Ms. Karen gave me for Christmas: a Savannah banana jersey. It goes really well with my banana hat, and gave me the wacky Vibes that I needed to engage and share creativity with the kids.

We’re going to be doing a lot more creative assemblies this year, partnering with libraries as well as schools! Making art with others is one of my favorite parts of doing these workshops. It’s truly amazing to see what kids create together.

When was the last time you made art with others? Let us know in the comments, and don’t forget to keep creating!
